Synchronicity
Bio-Graphic Notation System
Synchronicity is a biofeedback-driven audiovisual system that transforms physiological signals into a live graphical score for performers to interpret. It maps blood pressure to color as a marker of harmonic density, heart-rate variability to pulsation as an environmental metronome, and galvanic skin response to fog density as an indicator of dissonance threshold. Audience members contribute these signals in real time, allowing their internal states to shape the evolving performance.
By giving participants a responsive medium grounded in their own physiology, Synchronicity creates a setting for playful self-regulation and shared musical exploration. The system externalizes subtle internal fluctuations into interpretable visual structures, enabling performers to respond musically and transforming the audience into active collaborators within the piece.
